Jump & Hoops for Heart

May 12, 2010

Every year, for 26 years, CHCS has participated in the American Heart Association’s efforts to educate young people about the importance of keeping their hearts healthy.  This year, we’re excited to add Hoops for Heart to our Jump for Heart event!

To kick off the event, we will be sending home participation envelopes today.  I know!  There is a lot going on as we come to the end of the school year, but I hope you will take a minute to sign the permission slip, so your child can participate.  All you need to do is sign the slip and send it back to school tomorrow.

We also ask that you indicate whether or not you permit your child to enroll online.  Students will be allowed to enter their name and password on the secure American Heart Association web site, giving them the ability to send emails (with parent supervision) to friends and family requesting donations.  This eliminates the need for you or the school to handle any money.  It’s all done electronically!

There is no required minimum donation for students to participate in the event, but those who bring in ANY amount will have a heart with their name on it posted on the HEART HERO banner.

There is also a prize program for those who wish to raise money for AHA.  Prizes are listed on the donation envelope.  Online donations also count towards the student’s total.

May 6, 2010

We want to give a warm welcome to the newest memeber of the Jr. K2 classroom.  His name is Tickles, and so far he is doing quite well.  He keeps up with his work, keeps his area neat and tidy and is friendly with all the other students.  Welcome, Tickles!

Jana, Pastor David, and Devon Rock the House

April 26, 2010

Jana Alayra pulled off an awesome concert today at CHCS!  What a fun afternoon she gave us!

Every student had a blast!  Even the teachers got up on stage for a while!  And it was so nice to have ACHEVE homeschoolers, 3 Angels Preschool and other visiting parents and kids join us!

But really, it was Pastor David and Mr. Devon who brought the house down!

Walk 4 Fun-ds

April 17, 2010

So much fun!!!

Yesterday we had an absolutely wonderful day at the park!  And we’ve raised over $6500 from this fundraiser so far.  We still have more pledges to be collected, so we’re hoping to hit $7000!  Great job everyone!

I can’t say it enough….  College Heights Christian School has the most delightful students, caring and hardworking parents, and talented loving staff!  What a team!  You are all AMAZING, and I thank God for this awesome ministry.

On Our Way to D.C.

March 9, 2010

These kids and parents made the 20 mile trip from Libby Park in Ojai to the State Beach in Ventura. Despite a few rain drops, they had a great time and raised some serious money for their upcoming Washington D.C. historic tour. Great job guys!
