Congratulations to 6th and 7th Grades for bringing in the most Abundant Funds orders onTuesday and Wednesday.  Keep up the great work!  All orders so far will be tallied on Friday to award the “Early Bird” prizes.  Top 3 sellers get to pick a mega prize! Also, anyone with 10 or more items will qualify to attend the In ‘n’ Out lunch or the Dip ‘n’ Dots trip.

The 3rd Grade turned in the most orders per capita, starting Day 1 of our Abundant Funds fundraiser with Mrs. Keller receiving the honor of wearing the Kangaroo suit! Each day the teacher of the class who brings in the most orders will get to wear the Kangaroo suit.  Congratulations to the 4 students who got to pick a prize after school today.  Three more prizes will be given away on Wednesday to the three students who bring in the most orders on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Did you know that for every 5 boxes of cards that a student sells, Abundant Funds will donate 5 meals to the Kanwangware Mission School in Kenya?

Starts today!  Watch for catalogs coming home!  Let’s make this one really great!

Let’s all go to Chuck E. Cheese’s!  This Thursday, any time between 3PM and 9PM, Chuck E. Cheese will give 15% of our register sales (food and fun) back to the school.  This was a great success last year, so let’s do it again!

So much fun!  We had a blast!  Our Middle School campout, Camp Whatever, was a super-gigantic mega-success!  We have an awesome team of students, parents, teachers, and friends here at CHCS.  I am truly amazed!  I am…

• …so impressed by the open hearts of our students.
• …very blessed by support of our parents who stopped by, brought goodies, spent the night, etc.
• …deeply touched by the amount of work that the staff and other supporters were willing to put into making Camp Whatever a meaningful experience for our Middle Schoolers!
• …so thankful to God for allowing me to be a member of this incredible team!

By the way, Camp Whatever was named for the many Scriptures containing the word “whatever”.  These verses teach us to do everything wholeheartedly for the Lord,  forgive one another completely, and focus on the good and lovely things in life.  Thanks to our teaches, Pastors David, Margaret, Bobby and Rick for teaching us about these truths.  I think we’ve got a wonderful year ahead of us.

Bank of Books will be giving away 10,000 books on Saturday, September, 6th between 6AM and 7PM.  Bank of Books is located at 748 E. Main St. in Ventura.  Each guest will be given a bag and a limit of 20 books per person.  Want more info?  Call 643-3154. 

The Middle School Community Service Class is continuing our recycling project for Tender Life Maternity Center.  Why not donate your family’s plastic or aluminum bottles and cans by bringing them to school or sending them with your kids?   You can also check with your employer to see if you would be allowed to collect the recyclables from work!  Then, just pick one day each week to bring/send them in to school.  We will have containers set up around the campus for your convenience.

Our goal this year is to raise at least $750 to donate to Tender Life.   If we work together, we can do it!
